(operative word ...selfless...most people lack this quality...unable or unwilling to tolerate pain and or discomfort for a period of time).

People willing to sacrifice for the benefit of others is what keeps the world going round generation after gerneration....not money (though many would argue). Throughout time thousands of examples can be sited to substantiate this claim.
In our generation alone we have seen the sacrifices made by those who have stood up against segregation, degradation and injustice in recent history like the Civil Rights Movement, the ending of Aparthied and the tearing down of the Berlin Wall; Operation Iraqi Freedom is another great example of the high cost someone's Love paid for someone else!
This type of sacrafice creates a transforming bond of unity among people which energizes Love and causes it to GROW....Yes, Love can grow...it is a living organism just like you!
